VICTORIAN LABOUR HIRE LICENSE REGISTRATION AMNESTY PERIOD
By Renee Karakinos, Lawyers, MST Lawyers
The Labour Hire Authority (LHA) announced that labour hire providers (or any hosts of the provider) will escape penalties for providing services without a licence in the instance where a complete labour hire license application is submitted before midnight on 31 December 2019 and provided that labour hire providers are compliant in their legal obligations.
Given the complexities of the labour hire licensing laws, it would not be surprising for the LHA to further extend the amnesty period into 2020.
It is vital that all labour hire providers in Victoria obtain a labour hire license if they intend to continue to provide labour hire services.
