Victoria declares ‘Grand Final Eve’ public holiday

The Friday before the Australian Football League Grand Final has been declared a public holiday in Victoria via a notice in the Victorian Government Gazette on 19 August 2015. This year, the ‘Grand Final Eve’ public holiday will fall on Friday 2 October.

Many businesses across the state will now face the difficult choice between remaining open and bearing the cost of high penalty rates or closing and losing sales or production on that date.
