RMH – Larapinta Trail Challenge and Make A Meal
A huge congratulations to Alicia Hill and her fellow walkers who completed the 60km Outback Challenge for Ronald McDonald House Charities (Vic & Tas). Along the way, Alicia raised over $4,000, which will go to support the ever-changing needs of seriously ill children and their families.
The 5-day walking challenge took place along the Larapinta Trail in Central Australia. Along the way, Alicia and her cohort walked and climbed across the vast outback terrain including up the Euro Ridge, Serpentine Gorge, Counts Peak, along the bank of the Fink river, Ormiston Gorge and Pound and experiencing a gorgeous sunrise at the top of Mount Sonder. There were many long days and early starts but the group witnessed some of Australia’s most amazing natural beauty along the way and all the while meeting their fundraising target of $80,000. A spectacular effort by all.
While Alicia was busy walking the Larapinta Trail to raise money for Ronald McDonald House Charities (Vic & Tas), members of the MST Lawyers’ Professional Services team took part in the Make a Meal program designed to assist the families of seriously ill children at the Monash Children’s Hospital. The team consisting of Tony, Janine, Stephanie, Melissa, Heidi and Emma cooked and served up a menu consisting of zucchini slice, baked macaroni and meatballs, homemade sausage rolls, chow mein, roasted vegetables, green salad, fruit salad and ice-cream. The Make a Meal program provides a lifeline for thousands of families and provides volunteers with an opportunity to help those families in their time of need.
Our Family Law team are excited to show off their cooking prowess next week when they cook for the families at Ronald Mcdonald House Monash.
