MST Lawyers involved in 2017 International Chamber of Commerce Inaugural Asia-Pacific Mediation Competition

Spread the love

MST Lawyers Principal, Alicia Hill recently formed part of judging panels in the ICC Australia Asia-Pacific Commercial Mediation Competition. Alicia’s years of mediation experience were put to great use assessing competing teams’  mediation and collaborative problem-solving skills to represent parties’ interests and progress towards a satisfactory settlement.

The standard was high, and the levels of performance of the teams improved each round after receipt of immediate feedback from the experienced mediator judges.

MST Lawyers was excited to be involved in the International Chamber of Commerce Inaugural Asia-Pacific Mediation Competition, which encourages the development of legal skills including in alternate dispute resolution for the practitioners of the future.  The competition sees university students gain valuable skills in mediation, an essential area of dispute resolution in international commercial law.

ICC Australia wishes to empower tomorrow’s leaders and legal minds, equipping them with the skills to better meet the dispute resolution needs of international businesses in an increasingly cross-cultural and global marketplace.

Congratulations to the winning team and runner up – the University of Singapore and the University of Auckland respectively.
