An electronic future?
The move to electronic conveyancing and electronic management of other property transactions will be a step closer come 15 January 2015.
The State Revenue Office will no longer assess paper transactions where those transactions are capable of being processed using the Duties Online system.
Such transactions include the sale of residential property between non related parties, sales of land and building packages and transfers to beneficiaries in accordance with the terms of a will.
Paperless transactions may actually soon be a reality.
