Amanda Humphreys – Finalist in Australian Law Awards 2018
Amanda has been a critical member of our Family Law team providing sound counsel to her clients in often complex litigation. Her clients benefit from her passion and dedication to providing the best outcomes for families as they navigate through trying family law matters. Her knowledge in the family law system, both domestically and internationally, combined with strong associations with other legal practitioners and professionals have proven to result in successful negotiations and efficient resolution of disputes.
It is Amanda’s well-rounded approach that makes her such an asset to MST Lawyers and the clients she represents. She is a strong advocate for ensuring that legal assistance is accessible to all and has volunteered her time to the Peninsula Community Legal Centre for 20 years. Amanda has recently assumed the position of Counsel to the International Academy of Family Lawyers (IAFL) and sits on a three-person committee of the IAFL, working to organise the legal education program for the Melbourne meeting of the IAFL in 2019. She has been interviewed by overseas academics, as well as on ABC radio, to discuss international family law issues including international child abduction, speaks regularly at national and international forums and presents guest university lectures on this and other cross-border family law topics. Amanda is also a member of the Association of Family and Conciliation Courts (AFCC) and the prospective subcommittee of AFCC’s Australian Chapter, “Initiatives with Hague Convention Cases”. All of this has earned her a well-deserved standing in the area of family law, and particularly, international family law.
Given the fierce competition for the coveted title, of Special Counsel of the Year, it is an honour to be nominated as a finalist. MST Lawyers would like to congratulate all of the winners and finalists of the Australian Law Awards 2018.
