A young lawyer's perspective
I commenced work at MST as an Articled Clerk in January 2007 and prior to that worked as a paralegal at the firm for the previous 3 years.
One of the strengths of MST is the opportunity to rotate through the firm's practice groups and during my Articles I worked in the Commercial Property and Workplace Relations Teams before moving to the Corporate Advisory Team where I now work.
I have had the opportunity to work closely with senior lawyers and principals across a wide range of transactions including advising a multinational company in relation to their acquisition of a national franchise chain, assisting in the sale of one of Victoria's largest full service pharmacies and helping negotiate the sponsorship agreement between an AFL club and their major sponsor.
MST allows its young lawyers and graduates the opportunity to have client contact from day one and manage their own files. The firm also has an open door policy and a formal mentor program which really helps the new lawyers and graduates settle in.
MST is also a very social firm and has its own basketball team and arranges weekly yoga and pilates. It is a great place to work and I am looking forward to many more great experiences here.
