Commercial Property and Leasing Lawyer (3-5 years PAE)

MST Lawyers is looking to employ a full time 3rd – 5th year PAE Commercial Property and Leasing Lawyer to join our team.   

The ideal candidate will have previous experience working autonomously on commercial, industrial and residential property matters and commercial and retail leasing matters.  Exposure to corporate law transactions would also be highly regarded. 

Strong communication and drafting skills, excellent technical knowledge, attention to detail and an ability to multi task and prioritise are essential.

Our Property & Leasing team work on mixture of interesting and complex matters covering all aspects of commercial, industrial and residential conveyancing (including off the plan and subdivisions), retail and commercial leasing work (for both landlords and tenants) and general commercial property work (including sales, purchases and developments). 

The position will involve conducting a variety of property matters, including:

  • reviewing and negotiating agreements for lease and leases for national retailers;
  • reviewing and negotiating ancillary documents such as fitout contribution deeds, storage and seating licence agreements, mortgagee consents, franchisee consent deeds, deeds of surrender of lease;
  • preparation of leases, occupancy licences and disclosure statements;
  • preparation and negotiation of sale contracts for commercial, industrial and residential properties, subdivisions etc.;
  • preparation of subdivision documentation, caveats, mortgages;
  • due diligence on commercial acquisitions;
  • commercial sales and acquisitions;
  • working with our Dispute Resolution & Litigation team on property dispute matters
